ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali 
Pick up upon arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali. Check in, day at leisure to enjoy the facilities the Hotel has to Offer. In the evening enjoy a Dinner night out. Overnight Stay in Kigali

Day 2: Kigali - Akagera National Park
After Breakfast depart for Akagera National park passing via the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum
This is the resting place for over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. Visiting the Genocide museum, you will have an opportunity to understand all about the
genocide, the events which led up to the events of 1994 and the history of genocide in Rwanda.

 

After the tour drive to Akagera National Park passing through Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and living lifestyles. Check-in at Akagera Game Lodge, lunch served spend the rest of the afternoon at Leisure Enjoying the facilities that the lodge has to offer. In the evening enjoy an excellent game drive in Akagera National Park which is comprised of the lake, different varied vegetation; papyrus swamps and savannah vegetation acting as habitats of several wild animals like the giraffes, Zebras, Lions, different bird species. Dinner served and Overnight Stay in Akagera

Day 3: Akagera National Park - Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park. En-route visit the twin lakes (optional). In the afternoon visit the Kinigi Cultural Village for traditional dances and music, bio-mimicry and traditional healing lessons. Dinner & Overnight Stay in Volcanoes

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience
After early morning breakfast, you will be transfer to the park headquarters - kinigi for a briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. After the briefing embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. However meeting them is so rewarding and you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long-lost cousin take time studying them and taking pictures and videos.This is one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first.

Gorilla Trekking may take between 1-8 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement. 

After the Gorillla trekking, return to the base and meet your driver to transfer you to your lodge for lunch and refresh. Dinner & Overnight Stay in Volcanoes

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park - Lake Kivu
After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for Golden monkey trekking briefing. The golden monkeys (cercopithecus mitis kandti) trek will offer you an exceptional experience – You will encounter the monkeys retort and interrelate differently as they will keep on playing hide-and-seek much to the glee of the visitors. The Golden Monkey have been well habituated in volcanoes national park and there are 2 troups. The Kabatwa troop is lives near the Park headquarters and the Musanga troop is close to the Karisimbi and has a much longer walking distance. This is a another experience that you must not miss while in Rwanda as excellent photo opportunities await! In the afternoon transfer to lake Kivu for a boat ride up to the hot springs. Dinner and overnight stay in Lake Kivu

Day 6: Lake Kivu - Kigali - Depart 
After breakfast transfer to Kigali for return International flight.
